The mid to late summer garden is a glorious place if it is lucky enough to have a show of Japanese or Chinese anemones! Also known as Windflowers, Anemone hupehensis var. japonica ‘Prinz Heinrich’ is a beautiful, elegant perennial which forms a gradually spreading clump of foliage. The lobed green leaves are topped with glorious deep pink semi-double flowers which burst from beautiful buds, then gently fade in colour as the summer season progresses. The blooms are loved by pollinating insects and they look great in a vase too. Height: 75cm (2’6″). Spread: 60cm (2’0″).

Choose a sunny or semi shaded position in moist, well drained soil. Anemones prefer a fertile soil so work some well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil prior to planting.
Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season. In autumn, cut back any faded flowers and foliage. Lift and divide overcrowded clumps of Anemones in late Autumn or Spring.
