These unique hybrids are the most exciting breakthrough in Foxglove breeding for many years! The familiar spires of common Digitalis, are brought together with the tropical colours of the little known Canary Island Foxglove (Isoplexis).

Unlike most biennial Foxgloves, these unique plants are true perennials with glossy, semi-evergreen foliage and a bushy, multi-branching habit. The exotic looking blooms are completely sterile, so they won’t set seed, which results in an incredibly long flowering period. Add an exotic feel to containers and borders with the Perennial Foxglove Collection – with a little winter protection they will delight year after year.

Collection comprises: Foxglove ‘Illumination Pink’ and Foxglove ‘Illumination Ruby Slippers’. Height: 90cm (452). Spread: 45cm (18″). Supplied in 9cm pots.

Pot up digitalis plants and grow them on in frost free conditions for transplanting outdoors later on. When plants are well-grown and all risk of frost has passed, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days, before planting them in borders and containers in sun or partial shade. If plants are received in the autumn, pot them up and grow them on in cool, bright, frost-free conditions over winter. Although foxgloves prefer a fertile, moist soil, they will happily tolerate almost any soil except those that are excessively dry or waterlogged.

Water foxglove plants regularly until fully established. Foxgloves self-seed freely. If seedlings are not wanted, deadhead stems of foxglove flowers as the blooms fade. In autumn, cut back old stems to encourage plenty of new side shoots.
