Polemonium plants enjoy a position in sun or semi shade. Plant Polemonium in well drained, moist, fertile soil. On drier soils, incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or compost prior to planting to improve moisture retention.

Water plants regularly throughout summer until fully established. Deadhead faded Polemonium flowers regularly to encourage more blooms throughout the season. Lift and divide overcrowded clumps of Jacobs Ladder in spring to maintain their vigour.
