Large flowers with the purest white, tissue-paper petals and black blotches at the centre make this a winning variety in the garden. Poppy ‘Royal Wedding’ is a classy herbaceous perennial forming clumps of serrated hairy leaves and bearing its large flowers on tall slender stems which sway in the breeze. Flowering from May to July, Oriental poppies work well in cottage garden borders or wildlife gardens where they will attract bees. The seedheads which follow are wonderfully architectural and can be used in dried flower arrangements. Height: 60cm (24″). Spread: 50cm (20″).

Grow poppies in a sunny position in moist, well drained soil and work some well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil prior to planting.
Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season until plants are fully established. Leave faded flowers in place; the dried seed heads make an attractive late summer feature, and birds will appreciate the seeds as food. In autumn, remove old foliage and apply a mulch of well rotted manure to the base of the plant.
